This year’s environmental awareness days finish with a visit to Sariego

Corporación Masaveu’s environmental awareness days have finalized yet another year. Yesterday, Monday March 17, planting took place at the cider mill in Sariego. Throughout the day 50 school-children from Salvador Vega Berros National School, showed their interest in the environment and their sense of responsibility to look after it, by planting apple trees in an especially reserved area of the “El Rebollar” estate.

Attending the event were the Mayor of Sariego, Mr Francisco Javier Parajón and the Deputy Mayor and school Principal, Mr José Luis Chillón. On behalf of Corporación Masaveu, the General Manager of Communication and International Relations, Ms Alicia Castro, was accompanied by the Environmental Manager of the company, Mr Fernando Tresguerres and the visible heads of the cider mill, Mr Avelino Prida and Mr Esteban Blasco, who kindly answered all of the children’s questions during the planting activity.

During the environmental awareness days in 2014, a total of 285 seedlings have been planted in natural spaces belonging to the group, since the beginning of the initiative, the figure rises to over 1,000 trees.
